Former international cricketer M.S.K. Prasad on Wednesday appreciated the efforts of the management of Indian Springs, a school by NRI Educational Society, for sprucing up sports infrastructure on the school premises for its students.
Rs. 15 lakh spent
The school management has constructed a swimming pool and skating rink with an expenditure of Rs. 15 lakh. Mr. Prasad exhorted the students to make use of the facilities and hone their skills in sports and games along with education.
School chief co-ordinator Patibandla Nageswara Rao said education should be imparted in a congenial manner and involvement in sports and games will help students develop their overall personality. Administrative Director Kommareddy Chaitanya said that it was imperative to mix academics with other extracurricular activities to meet the demands of the modern society. Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh deputy director G. Chinnaiah and Mr. M.S.K. Prasad inaugurated rink and the pool respectively.
School vice-principal O.T. Srinivas and other teaching and non-teaching staff of the school took part in the inaugural function.
