VISAKHAPATNAM: A team of experts from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BIT), Government of Sweden, visited GITAM University on Monday. They held talks with GITAM University President M.V.V.S. Murthy and Vice- Chancellor M. Gangadhara Rao on the possibilities of tie-ups.

The GITAM President said that the university was planning to become a global leader in higher education and to establish world-class facilities in the area of teaching and research. He said that GITAM was the only university in the State that was implementing the online examination system.

International Project Co-ordinator of BIT Gurudutt Kumar said that Swedish Government was evincing keen interest to tie up with Indian Universities. BIT has so far signed MoU with three Indian universities in the areas of teaching and research. He announced that BIT was planning to start Telecom Management Course to cater to the needs of the industrial sector.

BIT team members Mikael Asma and Anders Nelsson expressed satisfaction at the facilities and courses at GITAM. Vice-Chancellor Gangadhara Rao spoke.
