Non-teaching employees of Sri Venkateswara University who have been working as ‘time-scale’ staff took a delegation to V-C W. Rajendra and submitted a memorandum on their five-point charter of demands.

The association alleged that despite their repeated representations and negotiations, their demands had remained unresolved and threatened to resort to direct action from March 6, if university top-brass failed to address their pending problems.

The representation, copies of which were released to the media here, regretted that though other universities in the State were paying their ‘time-scale’ staff revised HRA and CCA, those in SVU were yet to get it though most of them were working on cadre for over two decades and were due for retirement soon.

The University’s Rector and Registrar were also present. Among other demands were filling up of the 700-odd vacant non-teaching posts in SVU with time-scale staff, immediate payment of DA arrears due for the last five years. The delegation was led by president and secretary of the association, E. Subramanyam Reddy and E. Gurumurthy.
