TIRUPATI: Sri Venkateswara University Teachers Association has condemned the Centre’s decision to carve out Telangana State and has formed a 20-member ‘SVU Teachers Action Committee’ (SVUTAC) to work for the cause of ‘united Andhra Pradesh’.

At the annual general meeting held here on Wednesday with Prof. Chandrasekhar Rao in the chair, the association took exception to the ‘police excesses’ on students and teachers at Sri Krishnadevaraya and Andhra University campuses at Anantapur and Vizag respectively. The SVUTAC will invite academics from the agricultural, veterinary, Sanskrit, medical and women’s universities in the city into its fold and hold a one-day seminar . The teachers will take out a silent rally from the varsity to the RDO’s Office on Thursday.
