Sri Venkateswara University and SVIMS University have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, which will facilitate collaborative research in the fields of life science departments like zoology, microbiology, biochemistry, virology, botany and anthropology. Incidentally, Thursday (April 18) happened to be the foundation day of SVIMS University.
Vice-Chancellor W. Rajendra, virology professor D.V.R. Sai Gopal, Media dean P. Srinivasulu Reddy, SVU College of Sciences Principal A. Papa Rao and honorary director (NAAC) D.C. Reddy comprised the SVU panel, while the SVIMS side was represented by Director B. Vengamma, Dean D. Rajasekhar, Registrar T. Srinivasa Rao, heads P.V.L.N. Srinivasa Rao (Biochemistry), Alladi Mohan (Medicine), Abhijit Chaudhury (Microbiology) and Alok Sachan (Endocrinology).
The pact facilitates joint participation of the varsities in the development of teaching, training and research activities, while the committees formed would meet regularly to monitor the implementation of the proposals mutually agreed upon.
