TIRUPATI: A continuing medical education programme was conducted under the joint auspices of SVIMS University's Transfusion Medicine and Pathology Departments here on Saturday.

K.M.Radhakrishnan, emeritus professor of Transfusion Medicine from Chennai, spoke on ‘Administrative aspects of blood banking', while Dr.Rajyalakshmi, a professor of pathology at Chennai delivered a lecture on ‘Drug induced haematological changes', wherein she spoke on anaemia and the physiological composition attached to it.

Sundar Periyavan, an additional professor of transfusion medicine at NIMHANS, Bangalore gave a PowerPoint presentation on the techniques and various stages in blood transfusion to support his lecture on ‘Therapeutic plasmapheresis'.

SVIMS Director B.Vengamma delivered a lecture on ‘Haematological changes related to neurology'.
