A surgical team from Manipal Hospital performed ‘thoracic sympathectomy' through ‘thorocoscopy' (endoscopy) on a 46-year-old woman. The woman B. Koteswaramma, a resident of Srirangapuram in Kaikaluru mandal of Krishna district, visited the hospital complaining of intense pain in both hands and discolouration on the right side on October 22. She was treated under Arogyasri scheme by the C.T. and vascular surgeon Sharan Hallad. The patient was diagnosed with ‘raynavd's phenomenon'. The surgical team included Dr. Hallad, J. Surendra, laparoscopic surgeon and Dheeraj Chaitanya, C.T. anaesthesiologist.
The patient, according to the hospital, has recovered very fast.
