The real tribute to B. R. Ambedkar is providing quality education to all irrespective of a particular caste or religion they are born into, says Surajya Movement Convener Jayaprakash Narayan.
One of the aims of the Surajya movement is provision of good education to every one, Dr.JP, who launched a three-day fast, ‘Jana Chaitanya Deeksha’ to mobilise public support for their campaign for good governance, said here on Thursday.
Addressing a large gathering of students and youth on the second day of his ‘Deeksha’ at the Dharna Chowk near Indira Park, he said politicians would buy votes and shower sops but not talk about quality education during electioneering.
After garlanding a portrait of Dr. Ambedkar to mark his death anniversary, Dr. JP said the architect of Indian Constitution visualised caste barriers breaking down and every one becoming self-reliant and every child is provided quality education. But his hopes were dashed going by an international survey on educational standards of 15-year-old students in 74 countries and India ranked as 73rd.
Surajya is also for a strong and independent Lok Ayukta at the State level to eradicate corruption. People from diverse walks of life and leaders of various political parties including TRS MLA K. Taraka Ramarao, Congress spokesperson N. Tulasi Reddy, CPI (M) leader Y.V.Rao, civil society leaders pledged their support to the movement.
