KURNOOL: The Surabhi drama troupe, led by R. Venugopal Rao, presented `Srikrishnaleelalu,' first of the drama festival at the Collectorate complex here .

Kotla Jayasuryaprakasa Reddy, MP, and Collector Vikas Raj formally opened the festival. The play gripped the attention of the audience for two-and-a-half hours with its rich settings and mind-boggling light and sound techniques.

Artistes right from infants to elderly persons enthusiastically performed in their roles. Unlike other stage plays, the Surabhi presented a few months old baby in the role of young Krishna in the jail along with father Vasudeva and mother Devaki.

For particular scenes, over 20 actors were present on the dais jostling with one another. Settings and background were changed in a second like seen in movies.
