Nellore: District Collector, M. Ravichandra, has deprecated the tendency of regimentation and insistence on round-the-clock studies by parents.

Mr. Ravichandra was addressing the 4-day district-level sports event organised by private educational institutions, at the V.R. High School Grounds here on Friday. He said that forced insistence on any aspect was not desirable and opined that there should be a fair place for students for participating in extra curricular activities. The Collector pleaded for more avenues for students in sports and lauded the efforts of the V.R. High School management, particularly its secretary and correspondent Anam Vivekananda Reddy, for bringing around 60 private educational institutions under one roof.

Mr. Reddy, who presided over the function, said that from next year it was planned to have a district-level science fair, besides various cultural programmes.
