Engineering students should be dynamic and should focus more on updating their skills to become triumphant in the modern technologically advanced world, said professor K. Venkata Chalam, Registrar of Palamuru University.

He was addressing the valedictory function of “Savishkar Utsav-2k12 on Saturday, a national technical fest held for 3 days from 11th to 13th October organised by Jaya Prakash Narayan Educational Society.

Professor Venkatachalam asked the participants to become technically savvy and improve their communication skills also which will help them in the long run in getting good placements. Above all, they should be humanists, he noted.

Dr. Lingangouda Kulkarni, former JPNES principal, who was guest of honour, opined that such technical fests would certainly help students learn, understand and practice new ideas and technologies and would help them to grow.

550 participants

In the technical festival, 550 participants from across the State, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Delhi came to showcase their talents in paper, poster, PPT presentations and quiz, JAM, robotics and many other events.

Dr. Subhash Kulkarni, academic director of JPNES, welcomed the gathering. K.S. Ravi Kumar, chairman, JPN Group of Institutions, congratulated all the participants for taking part in the fest. Cash prizes and mementos were distributed by the chief guest and other guests.

Cultural events were held at the end of the programme.
