NELLORE: Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) registrar Prof. V. Narayana Reddy has appealed to the students to gain scientific knowledge for all round development of the society.

Addressing the students at the district-level ‘Discovery Science Talent Test’ organized by Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) of Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district here on Tuesday, the registrar said while India was competing with other countries in science and technology and was designing rocket launchers from Sriharikota, some thousands of people, particularly the tribals in the same locality, are suffering from poverty. “It is very said that even the educated are believing in superstitions. Students should enlighten people living in the remote areas on superstitions”, said Mr. Reddy.

Later, he distributed prizes to K. Grishmaja and V. Jhansi Lakshmi (Telugu medium) of A.P. Residential School, Venkatagiri and Y. Bharat and Y. Parthasarathi of Master English Medium School and Sri Vidya Vikas English Medium School of Kavali and Sriharikota towns respectively, who bagged first and second prizes in the talent test.
