Adilabad Additional Superintendent of Police T. Appa Rao on Wednesday exhorted the children of policemen to come up in life through education.

He said their performance in education and later in professional life will also bring good name to the Police department.

Mr. Appa Rao was handing over cheques to meritorious students, children of policemen, for the performance in SSC, Intermediate and Degree level during the last academic year.

He distributed cheques worth Rs. 2.44 lakh among 64 meritorious students.

Talking about the changes in the profile of police job, the Additional Superintendent of Police said the working conditions have changed drastically over the last few years. He said even children of policemen were opting for settling in jobs after good education.

Mr. Appa Rao reserved special praise for Nandini, daughter of Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Gargula Srinivas for securing a high 963 in Intermediate exam last year.

He exhorted other students to emulate Nandini.
