Staff of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya who have been on strike for three days will boycott all the work related Navodaya test on Sunday.

The all-India strike is demanding that the Old pension scheme CCS (1972) be made applicable to those who have joined service before 2004, according to Visakhapatnam unit secretary P. Babu Rao.

As a part of the agitation, the Navodaya staff and their family members staged a “Vanta-varpu” agitation near the Vidyalaya. On Saturday, they will hold a silent rally and submit a memorandum to the Mahatma Gandhi statue near the GVMC.

Meanwhile, APTF has extended its support to the striking Navodaya staff and condemned the examination duty being assigned to the teachers from other organisations instead of negotiating with them. Federation president K. Subba Reddy and general secretary Y. Satyam urged the Union government to resolve the issue.
