HYDERABAD: Minister for Home and Fire Services K. Jana Reddy has announced laws will be amended to pave way for strict fire safety norms in multi-storeyed buildings in the State.

The Home Minister who visited fire ravaged Insurance office building at Basheerbagh on Saturday said that proposals for strict building norms to ensure fire safety and seizing of properties of violators were under Government consideration.

The Government had already appointed a committee to give its recommendations for minimum fire safety measures in existing buildings constructed in violation of norms.
