KARIMNAGAR: District Educational Officer N. Rameshwar Raju has stressed the need for conducting orientation and training programmes for the benefit of teachers to prepare them before for the new academic year.
He formally inaugurated a 12-day orientation programme for teachers launched by Vivekananda Vidyanikethan recently.
During the programme that began on June 1 and would be held till June 11, several academicians and experts in various subjects have been conducting classes for the teachers. The classes were also conducted on improving teaching abilities, use of black boards, identification of learning deficiencies in students and measures to correct them, remedial measures for students below average, how to control the class, etc.
Vivekananda Vidyanikethan High School principal C. Janardhan Reddy said that they had designed the programme to update teaching skills of the teachers to enable them to discharge their duties better.
School’s chairman S. Komuraiah said that training would boost teachers’ confidence level and help them achieving good results in the examinations. He said that they were planning to conduct a lecture by eminent psychologist to throw light on the role of teacher in child’s education and how to overcome classroom stress.
