The All India Youth Federation (AIYF) has demanded the State government take steps to strengthen the network of the government health clinics and hospitals.

Activists of the federation led by former corporator Donepudi Sankar went in a delegation to the Municipal Corporation and submitted a representation to Additional Municipal Commissioner P.Venkataramana as part of a State-wide programme of the youth organisation.

The AIYF in the representation demanded strengthening of the government hospitals, filling of vacant doctor posts and extending Arogyasri to all diseases.

In a press release issued on the occasion Mr Sankar said the State government was neglecting the network of hospitals and clinics that come under its purview.

He said the government neglecting its responsibility to the health of the people was nudging them towards the corporate hospitals that were fleecing them.

He said all the decisions and policies of the government encourage the corporate sector and detrimental to the public sector.
