They will be held at village shandies and folk festivals in May
To popularise State programmes, the Chittoor district machinery has been asked to conduct road shows and street plays at village shandies and folk festivals in the month of May. The officials are also keen on publishing success stories of various constructive developments to create a positive impression among the public.
Information and Public Relations Commissioner Dana Kishore, during a videoconference meeting from Hyderabad, told the officials at Chittoor on Tuesday that awareness would be created on the ‘Indiramma Kalalu’, ‘Amma Hastham’ and ‘Bangaru Thalli’ among the scores of government schemes launched by the State. The blitzkrieg would be taken to a higher plane by screening documentary shows in theatres, pressing publicity vehicles into service and also employing cultural troupes (Kala Jatha). “Crowded places like vegetable markets, village shandies and temples where folk festivals are on, have to be identified in the district to conduct the street plays and cultural shows.
