HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India, Greater Hyderabad Council, in a statement issued here on Saturday demanded that the State government stop auction of liquor shops and look into related issues.

The secretary V.S. Bose in the statement said that the brandy shops were turning into open bars and there was very little action taken to handle the belt shops. He demanded the Chief Minister K. Rosaiah to convene a meeting with all political parties to discuss either a ban or control measures.
