Collector Budha Prakash M. Jyothi has appealed to the MLC contestants to follow the Election Code of Conduct strictly and asked political parties to cooperate with the staff for peaceful conduct of polling.

MLC elections will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 21. The district administration has arranged 159 polling booths in Krishna district. The Collector was speaking at a review meeting here on Thursday. The Election Commission of India (ECI) appointed a committee headed by Collector. City Police Commissioner N. Madhusudhan Reddy will act as convener and Joint Collector P. Usha Kumari, Superintendent of Police J. Prabhakar Rao, and District Public Relations Officer K. Sada Rao will be the committee members. “The Election Code of Conduct is in force and the candidates are requested to bring to the notice of the officials, if there are any problems,” said Mr. Madhusudhan Reddy.

The SP said the contestants should stop election campaigning 48 hours before the polling date. District Revenue Officer L. Vijay Chander, RDOs, BJP representative D. Sri Ramachandra Murthy, CPI leader Ch. Rama Rao, and others participated.
