Divisional Railway Manager, SCR Guntur, N.K Prasad on Wednesday inaugurated solar powered medical stores on the premises of Railway Hospital here.
Mr. Prasad said that the new stores was part of the developmental works sanctioned for upgrading the Railway Hospital.
Reena Prasad, president of Guntur branch of South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SCRWWO), opened a canteen which would be helpful for patients and their companions who attend the hospital in the morning hours, for diabetic tests etc.
A special cancer screening camp to detect breast cancer & cervical cancer among women employees of the Division was also opened. The DRM urged all the employees to spare a day for undergoing the screening.
Assistant Professor in Gynaecology, Government Medical College, Guntur Sandhya would be examining the women employees and will advise the pathological examination and mammography required for the needy women employees.
Mr. Prasad said that he was planning to develop a full-fledged Railway Hospital that could cater to the patients from families of Railway personnel. The hospital would soon be equipped with an operation theatre.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager V. Chandrasekhara Rao said that comprehensive infrastructural development at Divisional Hospital was on the cards to render best possible medical aid to the railway family.
Y. Hanumantha Rao Divisional Secretary, SCRMU, BK Visweswara Rao, Divisional Secretary, SCRES, Yedukondalu, of RPF Association and R.Krishna Naik, All India SC&ST Employees’ Association welcomed the moves to develop the Railway Hospital.
