The administration is taking steps to establish a science centre in the district and launch junior colleges in all mandals, according to former Minister and Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Speaking at the launch of the three-day District Science Fair at Little Flower Girls High School, here, on Monday, he advised students to inculcate scientific temper along with regular education.

Mr. Reddy counselled teachers to strive to ensure that there were no dropouts and that students of government schools excelled in securing good results, matching those of private institutions.

He said it was a matter of pride for the district that several students had taken part this year in the state-level Inspire programme. Four students from the district had participated in the national programme.
