Expressing solidarity with forces opposing bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh State, girls of Maris Stella College on Tuesday took to the roads.

They lined up along the entire stretch of Ring Road, holding Tricolours with the slogan of ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’ and formed a human chain in support of their demand for an integrated State.

Meanwhile, members of Samaikyandhra Samrakshana Samithi met Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Gayathri Road at Ramalingeswara Nagar in the city, where Mr. Naidu is touring as part of his ‘Vastunna Mee Kosam’ padayatra, and urged him to reverse his stand on the issue of separate Telangana.

The Samithi members presented Mr. Naidu a rose flower and reminded him that his party had worked hard for the unity of the State.

Finding fault with him for what they called ‘giving in to the pressure exerted by regional forces’, they said Mr. Naidu must withdraw his support to separate Statehood for Telangana and instead, fight for an integrated State.

Samithi leader Naraharisetty Srihari led the team while K. Venkateswara Rao, Shaik Jaleel, S. Nagalakshmi, G. Uthama Nagaraju and others participated.
