Declaring its opposition to the management’s offer of 21 per cent minimum guaranteed benefit (MGB) for steel workers, CITU-affiliated Steel Workers’ Federation of India (SWFI) has said it is not happy with the offer made by the core committee headed by SAIL Chairman and Managing Director. Federation vice-president V. Dhanaraju said that the management, at the meeting held in New Delhi, had offered 21 per cent MGB with 3 per cent annual increment or 23 per cent MGB with 2.5 per cent annual increment.

Mr. Dhanaraju said though INTUC signed the MoU proposed by management, CITU had not accepted it.
