VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has bagged the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) award in recognition of its exemplary performance in implementation of the official language.
The award was presented at the 53rd meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee held on Friday at the Divisional Railway Manager's office here.
Representatives of all Central Government organisations and Central banks participated.
Activities related to official language implementation were discussed and reports submitted by various organisations evaluated.
Awards were presented to the organisations for their outstanding performance in implementation of official language during 2009-10.
VSP was awarded first prize for its outstanding performance.
Lalan Kumar, in charge of Hindi Cell of VSP, received the award. committee Chairman and Divisional Railway Manager D. Kamilla complimented the VSP for its role in popularising Hindi.
A.S. Jhingar, Additional DRM, Sarat Chandra Jha, Assistant Director, Hindi Teaching Scheme, and Senior Hindi officers were present. Y. Manohar, Director (Personnel) of VSP, complimented the Hindi Cell for its achievement.
