ANANTAPUR: The Anantapur District Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the State Government to withdraw GO No. 517 stating that it is impractical to file returns every three months in addition to the monthly returns being filed by them now.

President of the traders’ body P. Seshanajaneyulu said here on Friday after a meeting of the chambers on Thursday that they had passed a resolution against implementation of the GO as it would be highly laborious to maintain records for filing returns quarterly. He stated that the GO sought filing of returns by VAT assesses every three months with the details of party-wise details.

They would be required to do a lot of homework consuming several man hours to prepare the details for filing quarterly returns. The chambers had also faxed a memorandum of the resolution adopted to the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes.
