CPI State secretariat member K. Ramakrishna urged the government to make arrangements for immediate release of water to Hundri-Neeva canal before the water level falls below 844 ft.

Mr. Ramakrishna who visited the pumping stations at Malyala and Brahmanakotkur along with other CPI leaders said the water level was precarious this season and the irrigation officials must act before the level declined.

He criticised the attempt of Mr. Raghuveera Reddy, Minister for Revenue, who intended to undertake padayatra along the canal and said the Minister and the government should attempt to secure full quota water through HLC and LLC.
