State to make all arrangements for Saibaba’s birthday fete

Ministers direct officials not to leave any gaps in the arrangements

Puttaparthi: The State Government would make elaborate arrangements for the 83rd birthday celebrations of Satya Saibaba and the ‘Sahasra Poorna Chandra Darshana Shanti Yagnam’ to be conducted from November 15 to 17, Ministers B. Satyanarayana, J. Geetha Reddy, J.C. Diwakar Reddy and N. Raghuveera Reddy said here on Tuesday.

In a review meeting conducted with the district officials, the Ministers directed the officials not to leave any gaps in the arrangements as large number of devotees from within the country and abroad would flock the spiritual town for the birthday fete. Officials of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust also participated in the review meeting.

The Ministers directed Superintendent of Police M.K. Singh to make proper security and traffic arrangements. Mr. Singh explained that security arrangements were already in place from November 7 itself and additional personnel were also summoned from the neighbouring Chittoor district.

Officials of the Panchayat Raj and Roads and Buildings departments were directed to maintain the connecting roads to Puttaparti properly. They were also told to arrange barricading in the town. The Medical and Health department officials were instructed to station 108 ambulances at different places and run mobile and stationary health camps.

The Fire Services department officials were told to station four fire tenders in and around Puttaparthi to meet any emergency situation. Panchayat department officials were told the arrange drinking water at 11 points in the town. Officials concerned were also told to ensure uninterrupted power supply, proper sanitation, help desks, toilets, and illumination of streets. MLA G. Thippeswamy, Joint Collector T. Chiranjeevulu, Sub Collector Praveen Kumar participated.
