Three others from the State come out with flying colours

Hyderabad boy Pallerla Sai Sandeep Reddy bagged the all India first rank in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Advanced) conducted for entry into the Indian Institutes of Technology, the results of which were declared on Friday evening. He was also the topper in the Engineering stream of EAMCET in the State.

It was a double bonanza for the city as the all India second rank too was secured by city boy -- A. Ravi Chandra. In fact, State students did exceedingly well in the exam bagging four ranks in the top 10. The all India 7{+t}{+h}rank went to M Viswa Virinchi while the 8{+t}{+h}rank was taken by Tirupati student S. Leena Madhuri. All these students belong to Sri Chaitanya Narayana IIT Academy, claimed the academy founders, P. Narayana and B.S. Rao.

Interestingly, Leena is the one of the two girls in the top 10 in the country and the other being from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. Apparently, this is the first time that girl students have cracked into the top 10 in JEE history.

Sandeep Reddy was confident that he would get a rank in the top 10 in JEE-Advanced but the top rank was a pleasant surprise. He secured 986 marks in Intermediate and 563 marks in SSC. Sandeep revealed that his dream was to pursue Computer Science Engineering from IIT Bombay and specialise in robotics. He secured 311 out of 360 in JEE Main.

The second ranker Ravi Chandra’s parents hail from Prakasam district.
