The State Government is planning to establish a university of journalism, Chairman of Press Academy of Andhra Pradesh Tirumalagiri Surender said while inaugurating a two-day workshop for rural reporters at Andhra University here on Monday.
Meanwhile efforts were on to introduce a three-month course in Andhra University in reporting, photography, camera and other aspects of journalism, on the lines of a course being offered by the JNTU, Mr. Surender said.
Member of Press Academy K.B.G. Tilak, Principal of Rachana College of Journalism R. Umamaheswara Rao, Chief of Bureau of Saakshi A Amaraiah and Ch. V. Satyanarayana of Gemini News spoke on different aspects of reporting.
Director of AU Academic Staff College Bharata Lakshmi and others spoke.
