Senior TRS leader and the deputy floor leader of the party in the Assembly, T. Harish Rao, has accused the government of failing to ensure that the paddy farmers got the Minimum Support Price (MSP) fixed by the Centre, even as the entire State machinery including several Ministers camped in Kadapa in connection with by-elections.Therefore, the farming community in the Telangana region was in dire straits despite a very good harvest they had this year.

Besides, the government was discriminating between the farmers of the Telangana and Seemandhra regions in paying compensation towards crops whenever there was crop loss due to natural calamities, he said while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.
