KARIMNAGAR: TRS leader and former MP B. Vinod Rao has flayed the State government for reducing the capacity of ambitious 2100 MW Ultra mega gas-based power project at Nedunuru village on the outskirts of Karimnagar town to only 700 MW.

Talking to “The Hindu” over phone on Wednesday, he said that the government had reduced the capacity of power plant from 2100 MW to 700 MW and also converted it into liquid natural gas instead of naptha-based power plant. “Once again it is mega betrayal for Telangana region in the sanctioning of development works,”, he added. He asked the government to restore the originally proposed power plant.
