AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s remark that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) retracted from its promise of merging with the Congress after bifurcation of the State makes it amply clear that the Congress divided the State to gain political mileage, former Chief Minister and Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) president N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has said.
Addressing a gathering at Netaji circle in Rayachoti town during his road show on Tuesday night, Mr. Reddy called upon the people to teach divisional forces a lesson at the hustings.
The State was bifurcated without any rhyme of reason, he alleged.
Urging the people not to believe the empty promises of other parties, the JSP president urged the electorate to vote for the party candidates.
JSP campaign committee convenor N. Thulasi Reddy alleged that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj at the Centre and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in the State were responsible for bifurcating the State.
Charge against Congress
JSP candidate for Rajampet Parliamentary constituency Mujeeb Hussain accused the Congress of fielding minorities when it was certain to lose the elections.
Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy was honest and sincere and forfeited the Chief Ministership, JSP candidate for Rayachoti Assembly constituency Mandipalli Prasada Reddy said.
He implemented several welfare schemes, he added.
