The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has demanded the State Government to stall the installation of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy statues until the CBI gave a clean chit to Kadapa MP and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, TDP State general secretary Varla Ramaiah said the YSR Congress Party was dumping the statues and every nook and corner.

Mr. Jagan was distributing money for the installation of his father statues.

The government, however, was playing a spectator role. Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy's name was also figured in the FIR of the CBI in disproportionate assets case. So, the Chief Minister should issue a GO stalling the installation of YSR statues, he demanded.

The lawmakers, who were loyal to Mr. Jagan, were planning to take out a bus yatra. Were they sure that Mr. Jagan was honest, and did not amass properties in an illegal manner? They have made baseless allegations that the cases were plot of TDP and Congress party. Were they not aware that the Andhra Pradesh High Court was satisfied with prima facie evidences against Mr. Jagan. Subsequently, the CBI initiated full-fledged inquiry, he said.

Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari asserted that the CBI could be influenced by the government. If it was so, the government should order reinvestigation into murder of TDP leader Paritala Ravi case, and Botcha Satyanarayana's Volkswagen case.

Even the Chief Minister stated that he struggled to shield Mr. Jagan in Paritala Ravi's case.

As the YSR Congress MP asserted that the CBI could be influenced, these cases also should be reinvestigated, he added.
