Arrangements are in place for the second round of panchayat elections in East Godavari district scheduled to be held on July 27. Polling will be held in Kakinada and Peddapuram revenue divisions from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Counting of votes will commence at 2 p.m. and the result will be declared immediately after completion of the counting. Of the 163 village panchayats for which election notification has been issued in Kakinada revenue division, sarpanches were elected unanimously in 19 villages. Election will be held for144 village panchayats and 1,223 wards in 1,816 polling stations.
