VIJAYAWADA: The stage is set for smooth conduct of Intermediate examinations scheduled to begin from March 4 for first year students and March 2 for second year students. The exam will take place every day from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Of the total 1,13,236 students appearing for the test, 58,582 are from first year and 54,654 from the second year.
Those appearing for exams pertaining to vocational courses account for 3,995 students and, of them, 2,415 are from the first year as against 1,580 students from the second year.
The authorities concerned said 124 examination centres were set up. Of them 62 centres were set up under Krishna-I (Vijayawada urban) and another 62 under Krishna-II (rural).
Chief superintendents, additional chief superintendents, departmental officers and custodians were appointed to ensure smooth conduct of the exams. Three sets of question papers had been sent to police stations concerned through route officers along with police escorts and elaborate bandobust was made to prevent malpractices.
Deployment of a high-power committee, a district exams committee, flying squads and sitting squads was aimed at ensuring proper coordination among the officials concerned at various stages.
