Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has said his government will spend an additional sum of Rs 3,500 crore annually out of the State’s budget on Scheduled Tribes from now onwards, over and above their sub-plan, against the loss they had suffered following of lapsing the funds allotted to them in the past few years.

He gave this commitment to members of different Scheduled Tribes from Khanapur area in Warangal district who met him at his camp office here on Thursday under the leadership of D. Sudhir Reddy, Congress MLA, LB Nagar. The ST members thanked the Chief Minister profusely for adopting a legislation, legalising their sub-plan along with that of the Scheduled Castes.

Giving a feedback on the welfare schemes being implemented for them, they told him that Indira Prabha, Indiramma Amrutha Hastham and a list of benefits announced recently by the Chief Minister through Sunnamvarigudem Declaration, like filling of backlog vacancies, were benefiting them immensely.
