KURNOOL: It was ranks galore for city schools in the SSC examination this year. Many schools improved upon their own records.

Kesava Reddy Group of Schools repeated their performance this year also by securing 15 ranks among top ten ranks. Though government dispensed with the system of ranking, many schools unofficially arrived at the ranking system based on the marks scored by the students.

Sravana Lakshmi of Kesava Reddy School at Nandyal scored 591 marks out of 600 to emerge topper in the whole State while her school mate B.L. Anusha scored 590 marks, Venkata Pridvi Teja, Venusai Bhargav 588 marks each, Anvitha, Sunny Joel 587 each, Jayanth 586, G. Udaya Lohita Krishna 585 and four other students of the school secured 584 marks.

Naga Swetha of Sri Lakshmi School secured 586 marks and Jyotsna 582 marks. Madhavilatha, correspondent of the School, said out of 411 students 405 students secured first class.

At Ravindra English Medium School, out of 36 students appeared for the examination, all secured first divisions. Around 19 of them secured over 500 marks.

The organisers of many private schools expressed their happiness over the result. Meanwhile, the performance of the district at State-level disappointed a bit as it stood second from the bottom with 70.25 per cent pass.


Tirupati Staff Reporter adds: Venu Sai Bhargav of Keshava Reddy Concept School, Tirupati, emerged the district topper by scoring 588 out of 600 in the SSC examination. He was followed by Udaya Lohitha, also from the school, who scored 585 marks.

S. Unith Kumar of Krishna Reddy’s Sri Chaitanya Children’s Academy scored 577 out of 600. He was followed by M.Sudheera Varma (573), V.Swarna Madhuri (571) and B.Vamsikrishna (569) of the school. B.V.Krishna Reddy, chairman of the educational group congratulated the students.

R. Meena of Gautam Talent School scored 573 marks, followed by Sudhanshu Sharma and P.Lakshmi with 569, L.Sharon with 568 and N.Mounika with 566, according to its director Y.Srinivas. Similarly, M.Srinivas of Seven Hills High School scored 563 and became the topper. Correspondent M.Haranatha Sarma congratulated the students. S.Shehnaz Begum of Akshara High School, Nawabpet, became school topper by scoring 532 marks.

R. Naveen of Prasanna Bharathi High School, Korlagunta, emerged school topper with 574 marks, according to its correspondent T. Eswari.


Kadapa Special Correspondent adds: Girls fared better than boys in Kadapa district, which ranked seventh in the State in SSC results by recording a pass percentage of 84.03 per cent. Out of a total of 34,439 regular students, 28,942 appeared for SSC examinations. Of them, 15,295 girls and 13,647 boys passed the examinations.

Kadapa district was 10th in SSC pass percentage in the State last year.
