Srinivasa Kalyanam, the celestial wedding of Lord Srinivasa with goddess Padmavathi, will be conducted by the Mahipathi Foundation, a charity organisation, in association with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams at KTPS Vidyut Kalabharathi Grounds in Palvancha on January 18.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, Nagendar Rao Mahipathi and his wife Subashini Mahipathi, the NRI couple from the United States, said the divine ceremony is being organised under the Sri Kalyanotsavam Project for universal peace and prosperity. It is a good opportunity to witness the celestial wedding for people of Palvancha town and its adjoining places mainly for those who cannot travel to Tirupati for some reason, they said adding that priests from the TTD would perform the holy ceremony. A traditional Telugu “prasadam” will be served to the devotees after the ceremony, said the NRI couple who originally hail from Palvancha. Mr. Nagendar Rao and Dr. Subashini said their foundation has been organising charity activities like free medical camps in India as well as in the US.
