Sringeri Peetham pontiff Sri Bharati Tirtha Swamy will visit Visakhapatnam from January 18 to 23 as part of his Dakshinadesa Dharma Vijaya Yatra.

The Sringeri Matham head is visiting the city after a gap of 22 years, according to the organising committee of the visit. The Swamy would perform puja to the Sri Sarada Chandamouleswara Swamy, deliver discourses and distribute prasadam to devotees.

He would be reaching the city from Bheemunipatnam and would be accorded a grand reception on the Beach Road at MVP Colony at 5 p.m. on January 18 and taken in a procession to the TTD Kalyanamandapam, where he would stay till he leaves for Annavaram on the afternoon of January 22. The organising committee headed by former Mayor D.V. Subba Rao is making arrangements for the programmes.
