Y. Srilakshmi, the suspended IAS officer and the sixth-accused in the illegal mining case against Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), was released from Chanchalguda prison here on Monday.

A special court here extended her interim bail till further order on March 30 but her lawyers could not get the formalities completed on that day as the court order was pronounced in the evening and it was Saturday.

Accompanied by her counsel, Ms. Srilakshmi’s husband M. Gopikrishna, an IPS officer, and her mother-in-law completed the formalities of surrendering her passport to the court, execution of bond for Rs. 2 lakh and two sureties for the like sum on Monday.

Meanwhile, the court extended the judicial remand of other accused in the case – B.V. Srinivasa Reddy, Gali Janardhan Reddy and K. Mehfuz Ali Khan – till April 15. All the three were produced through video linkage – Mr. Srinivasa Reddy from Chanchalguda prison and Mr. Janardhan Reddy and Mr. Ali Khan from a Bangalore jail.

The court also extended the remand of N. Sunil Reddy, an accused in the Emaar Properties land deal case till April 8. Other accused in both the cases who are out on bail marked their presence in the court.
