Villain-turned-hero Srihari, craving for a hit after some duds, comes out with a good subject on his own production.
Hanumanthu (Srihari) is a he-man of a village. He has a grandmother called Mahalakshmamma (KR Vijaya). Satyavati (Madhu Sharma), daughter of the village sarpanch, loves him.
Twist in story
Though Mahalakshmamma doesn't want Hanumanthu to go out of the village, he goes to Hyderabad once when some students rag one of the village boys, a student of MBBS, to teach them a lesson. In the city, Krishna Murthy alias King Maker alias KM (Pradeep Rawat) holds sway in politics. People think he is a good Samaritan though he is a traitor. Sitaramaiah (Vijayachander), who is prison, knows his true colours. He escapes from jail to kill KM.
Sitaramaiah meets Hanumanthu and reveals how Hanumanthaiah, his grandfather lost his life for the sake of villagers. How Hanumanthu taught a lesson to KM forms part of the climax. The film is watchable because of Srihari's performance. The climax is quite cinematic.
