Beela Satyanarayana, in-charge Vice-Chancellor, Adikavai Nannaya University has said that Andhra University is giving 1 per cent reservation in post-graduation and under-graduation courses to NSS volunteers to increase service motive in the students. Introducing NSS unit in Nannaya University on Thursday, he said that reservation provision was already there for Ph.D., and from last year they had extended this facility to P.G. and U.G. students.

The Vice-Chancellor asked the NSS volunteers to enlighten people on diseases, particularly swine flue and dengue and encourage blood donation among the student community.

N. Ramachandra Rao, NSS coordinator, said that there are 3.25 lakh NSS volunteers in 32 universities in the state.
