HYDERABAD: Sporadic incidents of violence were reported from the city and outskirts even as the agitation for separate Telangana State by the students of Osmania University remained peaceful on Wednesday.
TRS activists allegedly defaced the statue of K. Brahmananda Reddy, former Chief Minister, at KBR Park in Banjara Hills, by pouring black paint on it. Unidentified persons torched an abandoned jeep inside the compound of the Shaikpet Mandal Revenue Office in Banjara Hills in the early hours. They poured petrol on the vehicle and set it on fire. Some berths in two coaches of Kachiguda-Nanded Inter City Express, supposed to leave for Nanded at 7.30 a.m. got damaged after some persons sprinkled kerosene and set it ablaze in the wee hours. The cleaning staff noticed the flames and doused them by pouring water.
Glasses of noted clothes showroom Cherma’s, at Ameerpet were broken by unidentified persons in the early hours. Four unidentified persons hurled stones at the showroom breaking the glasses and sped away.
A RTC bus of Dilsukhnagar depot was partially burnt after miscreants set it on fire near Chaitanyapuri.
