A pair of weekly superfast special express trains will be operated between Santragachi and Chennai with effect from October 7 to clear the extra rush of passengers during the Dasara puja season, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division M. Yelvender Yadav.

The train will have one AC 3-Tier, 9 sleeper class coaches, 4 general second class coaches and two second class cum luggage compartments. Train No.08041 Santragachi-Chennai Superfast Express will leave Santragachi at 12 p.m. (noon) on Sundays from October 7 to 28 and arrive in Visakhapatnam on Mondays at 2.30 a.m. It would leave at 2.50 a.m. to reach Chennai Central at 5.00 p.m. on the same day.

Train no.08042 Chennai-Santragachi Superfast Express will leave Chennai at 11.00 a.m. on Tuesdays from October 9 to 30 and will arrive in Visakhapatnam at 12.10 a.m. (midnight). It will leave at 12.30 a.m. (midnight) (i.e., early hours of Wednesday) and reach Santragachi at 2.15 p.m. on Wednesdays. En route these trains stop at Gudur, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Vizianagaram, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kharagpur.
