VISAKHAPATNAM: The Junior Chamber International-India, Vizag, is organising its 10th annual Special Olympics at the Police stadium here on September 13.

The event started with 100 participants from 12 institutions in 2000 and quickly gained popularity and the number of participants has gone up over the years with participation of institutions from Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. This year, a few institutions from East Godavari are also participating and 1,000 participants from 40 institutions were expected, JCI Vizag’s president G.V.S. Ramayya, project chairman Satendra Mishra and community services director Mukhesh Jain said at a press meet on Saturday.
