NALGONDA: The Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar on Monday called on Karim, police constable, who had sustained serious spinal cord injury in an attack by Maoists on the Atmakur (M) police station in September 2006, at his home situated in Meer Bagh colony in the town to mark the Police Commemoration Day on Tuesday.
He spent some time with Karim, who was on his wheelchair, and inquired his present health condition. The SP asked him to mentally prepare to come out since his recovery pace is fairly good. “I’ve asked him to come to the office to get out of the sick feeling. I hope he would be normal soon,” the SP told reporters later. Mr.Vijay Kumar noted down the problems presented by Karim and his family members. He said that the department would provide him a vehicle, if he was prepared to attend his duties. Earlier, the SP interacted with the family members of those who lost their lives in the hands of Maoists. “Of the 26 such families, 16 families took part in the customary meeting and we have almost cleared all their problems,” the SP said.
