Worried about your balding pate?

“Put your anxieties to rest as the latest hair transplantation techniques, that can match the best in the world, are now available in the city,” says Radha Rani of Radha Institute of Hair Transplant.

Hair transplantation could be done not only on the head but also above the lips and patches of skin where hair growth has stopped due to burns and accidents. There would be no complications after transplantation and hair growth would be normal after the surgery, she told a media conference here on Saturday.

Dr. Radha Rani, who has done her MBBS from Andhra Medical College, has been awarded the prestigious Diplomate American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery from Houston, USA, this year. She was awarded a Fellowship by the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), USA, in 2009 after a one-year intensive training abroad.

With the new achievement, she now claims to be the first Indian hair transplant surgeon to complete two degrees from the most respected world bodies in hair transplant surgery – ISHRS and ABHRS.

Dr. Radha Rani said that she had conducted over 1,000 hair transplant surgeries at her clinic in the city during the last two years.

No hospitalisation would be required and the procedures would be done in sittings and the number of visits to the doctor would depend on the area to be treated. She said that poor patients who lose hair due to burns and lacerations were being treated free of cost at her clinic.

Replying to queries, she said that the treatment cost was nearly one-tenth of that in the USA. Patients were also coming from Indonesia and Malaysia due to the comparatively low cost of treatment at her clinic.
