Six pilgrims were injured, two of them seriously, when the private jeep in which they were travelling overturned on Monday at Sri Vari Padalu, about 4 km from Tirumala. According to the police, the mishap occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle. All the injured were rushed to the TTD-run Aswini hospital and from there to the government SVRR hospital. Police said ten members were travelling in the vehicle and all of them were from Bhiwandi in Maharashtra. – Staff Reporter
