HYDERABAD: The Chikkadpally police on Monday arrested six persons who allegedly robbed a cloth trader's clerk of Rs. 8 lakhs at knifepoint in Domalguda 13 days ago and recovered Rs. 3.3 lakhs from them.
While the alleged mastermind behind the robbery, Akram, was still at large, his accomplices --Mallikarjun, Imran, Ali, Gulam Feroz, Mohammed Shameemuddin, Syed Naseruddin -- were nabbed in Old City.
According to the police, Akram of Jharkhand State and Mallikarjun of Medak district were working as helper and driver in a cloth trading company at Ricabgunj. They noticed clerk Gopal Das Pitti managing all monetary transactions of the company.They hatched a plot with others to rob the clerk. Imran, Naseeruddin, Shameemuddin and Feroz lay in wait at the cloth company owner's house in Domalguda. When the clerk reached the spot in an auto-rickshaw, they pounced on the driver and beat him up. As the scared driver ran away, Naseeruddin inflicted knife injuries on the clerk and snatched away the suitcase containing cash.
